Packaging Design

A packaging redesign of Adams Peanut Butter, inspired by the original product found on a supermarket shelf in Canada.

The goal was to explore how an established grocery product could be visually refreshed through a cleaner, more contemporary design while keeping the packaging simple, recognizable, and product-focused.

challenge.

The original packaging has a strong traditional grocery-store aesthetic, with bold typography, multiple colors, decorative elements, and several competing pieces of information.

For the redesign, I wanted to reduce the visual noise and create a clearer hierarchy that would make the product feel more modern and refined.

approach.

A warm neutral label was chosen to complement the natural color of the peanut butter, while black typography creates contrast and gives the packaging a more sophisticated feel. The handwritten-style Adams wordmark adds character and keeps the design from feeling overly clinical.

The final concept transforms the original packaging into a more refined and modern product while preserving the simplicity associated with natural peanut butter.
